Studies, such as one involving over 1,200 men, have shown that Finasteride increased hair counts by more than 100 hairs within a 1-inch diameter on the scalp compared to only 7 hairs with a placebo (Kaufman et al, 1988). The standard dose is one tablet daily.
Although initial improvements can be seen in as little as 3 months, Finasteride should be used continuously to maintain hair growth results. Stopping treatment can result in a reversal of benefits within 12 months.
