Zineryt Lotion

Zineryt Lotion is a common acne medication prescribed in the UK to help treat acne of all severities on areas of the face, back and chest. It will help to reduce overall symptoms of acne including reducing whiteheads, blackheads and pus-filled spots. The zinc will help reduce redness, swelling and help promote minor wound healing of the skin surface- leaving your skin looking smoother. Many people will see a benefit of acne symptoms within a few days although it is recommended to use for a minimum of 3 months for best results. Zineryt Lotion comes in a bottle and needs to be mixed at home by the patient prior to use- this is straight forward- see under the ‘How to Use’ section below.

The antibiotic erythromycin targets acne specific bacteria and eradicates them. The zinc is anti-inflammatory and may have some benefits in skin healing.

• Apply all over the affected area (even the area surrounding your spots) twice a day.
• Ideally apply after cleansing the skin with a mild acne-friendly cleanser or lukewarm water.
• You can apply makeup and other creams such as SPF after the Zineryt has dried.
• Apply for a minimum of 3 months for best results.
• Those with sensitive skin may want to start by applying every other day or once per day for the first week and then step up to twice daily as tolerated.
How to mix Zineryt at Home:

1. Unscrew the caps from both the powder and the liquid bottles, keeping the cap of the larger powder bottle.
2. Pour the contents of the liquid into the powder bottle.
3. Recap the bottle using the powder bottle cap.
4. Shake the mixture vigorously for one minute.
5. Firmly attach the dabbing applicator cap over the neck of the newly mixed solution.
6. The product should be used 8 weeks after you have mixed it.

•        Do not use this product if you are allergic or suspect allergy to any of the ingredients. If you do experience and suspected side-effects e.g. a rash or irritation, then stop using and seek medical advice.

•        Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

•        For external use only- Zineryt should not come into contact with the eyes, lips, mouth, nostrils or mucous membranes. If product enters the eye, wash immediately with warm water.

This product is generally regarded as safe to use in pregnancy and breastfeeding although we would still recommend having a discussion with a pharmacist or doctor about the risks versus benefits of using this treatment. When breastfeeding, do not use on the chest.

Active Ingredients: Erythromycin (40mg/ml) & Zinc Acetate (12mg/ml)Other Ingredients: Di-isopropyl sebacate, ethanol.

Shelf Life: 2 years. 8 weeks after mixing.
