Chlorphenamine 4mg Tablets

Chlorphenamine 4mg tablets are used to relieve the symptoms of allergic reactions, such as hay fever, hives, and itching. It may also be effective at relieving the itch associated with dry skin conditions such as eczema. Adults and children aged 12 years and over can take one tablet every 4-6 hours as needed, up to a maximum of 6 tablets in 24 hours. Children aged 6-12 years can take half a tablet every 4-6 hours as needed, up to a maximum of 3 tablets in 24 hours. This medication is not suitable for children under 6 years old.

Chlorphenamine belongs to a group of medications called antihistamines. Histamine is a chemical that is released in the body during an allergic reaction. It causes a variety of symptoms such as itching, redness, and swelling. Chlorphenamine works by blocking the action of histamine, reducing the symptoms of allergy.

• Take one tablet with water every 4-6 hours as needed. • Do not exceed the recommended dose. • Do not take for more than 7 days without consulting your doctor or pharmacist. • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. • Do not take Chlorphenamine if you are allergic to chlorphenamine or any of the other ingredients in the tablets. • Do not drink alcohol while taking Chlorphenamine, as it can increase the risk of drowsiness and other side effects. • Chlorphenamine can cause drowsiness and impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you. • Do not take Chlorphenamine if you have an enlarged prostate gland, glaucoma, or a breathing problem such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) without consulting your doctor first. • Consult your doctor before taking Chlorphenamine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. • If you experience any side effects such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, or severe skin reactions such as rash, blistering or peeling, stop taking this medication immediately and seek medical attention.

Most manufacturers of antihistamines advise avoiding their use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Consult your pharmacist or doctor before taking Chlorphenamine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
