Doxycycline 100mg Caps (For Rosacea)

• The usual dosage is One capsule Daily.
• Take with a full glass of water and well before going to bed at night to reduce the risk of stomach irritation. Unlike some other tetracycline antibiotics, it can be taken with or without food.
• Take for a minimum of 3 months although it can be taken for up to 6 months depending on response and appropriateness. Talk to one of our pharmacists or your doctor if in doubt.
• Use with an acne friendly cleanser and a topical acne treatment for best results e.g., Benzoyl peroxide, Adapalene or Epiduo for best results (see our acne guide for more information).
• Do not use with other topical antibiotics as this can create bacterial resistance.

•    Doxycycline can cause your skin to become more sensitive to sunlight than usual. Avoid strong sunlight and sunbeds until you know how your skin reacts.
•    Do not take Doxycycline if you are allergic or suspect allergy to any of the ingredients listed below.
•    Do not take Doxycycline if you have kidney or liver failure, SLE or Myasthenia Gravis.
•    Do not take Doxycycline if you are under 12 years old as this can cause permanent damage, including to bones and teeth.
•    Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
•    Drug interactions- Please speak to a pharmacist or doctor before taking Doxycycline if you are taking any of the following medications (this list is not exhaustive so please check if in doubt): Amoxicillin, Ampicillin, Cefadroxil, Cefaclor, Cefalexin ,Quinapril, Ranitidine, Antacids, Iron, Calcium, Aluminium, Kaolin, Strontium Ranelate, Ergotamine, Warfarin, Amiloride, Furosemide, Oral Contraceptive Pills, Carbamazepine, phenytoin, primidone, Ciclosporin, Methotrexate, Oral Retinoids (including Isotretinoin)

Active Ingredients: Doxycycline 100mgOther Ingredients: Sucrose, Maize Starch, Crospovidone, Polymethacrylate and Talc. The Capsule Shell Contains Gelatin and the Colourings E171, E132 And E172. The White Printing Contains Shellac, Propylene Glycol, Ammonium Hydroxide, Potassium Hydroxide and The Colour E171.

Shelf Life: 5 years.

Common Side effects (affecting 1%- 10% of people): Hypersensitivity (including anaphylactic shock, anaphylactic reaction, anaphylactoid reaction, exacerbation of systemic lupus erythematosus, serum sickness), Headache, hypotension, Nausea/vomiting, Photosensitivity reaction, rash including maculopapular and erythematous rashes, Henoch- Schonlein purpura, Urticaria, Pericarditis, Tachycardia, Dyspnoea, Peripheral oedema
Uncommon Side effects (affecting 0.1%-1% of people): Vaginal infection, Dyspepsia (Heartburn/gastritis)
