Silkis Ointment

• The ointment should only be applied to the affected skin areas.
• Silkis should be applied twice daily for optimal effect.
• Do not apply the ointment to areas of the skin that are not affected by the psoriasis. If small amounts do get on healthy skin, don’t worry but wipe it off if it this is excessive.
• Wash hands after applying the ointment unless the hands are the area being treated.
• Do not shower or bath immediately after the application of the ointment. For optimal effect the ointment should be left on overnight or throughout the day to gradually absorb into the skin.
• For the treatment of psoriasis progress should generally be reviewed by the prescribing clinician after 6 weeks if the symptoms have not resolved.

•        Avoid applying to areas of broken or damaged skin.

•        Silkis Ointment can be applied to the face, but caution should be used, as there is increased risk of irritation in this area.

•        Silkis ointment should not come into contact with the eyes. If the product enters the eye, wash immediately with warm water.

•        Avoid using more than 30g per day of Silkis Ointment. 

•        Avoid smoking or going near naked flames. Fabric that has been in contact with Silkis will burn more easily, increasing risk of severe burns.

Active Ingredients: calcitriol monohydrate 3 micrograms/g 

Other Ingredients: Liquid paraffin, white soft paraffin and alpha- tocopherol.

Shelf Life: 3 years. After first opening: 8 weeks.

Common Side Effects (affecting 1% to 10% of people)
Itchiness, skin discomfort, skin irritation, inflammation of the skin.

Uncommon Side effects (affecting 0.1%-1% of people):
Dry skin, aggravation of psoriasis.
