Telfast 120mg tablets contain fexofenadine hydrochloride, which is a non-drowsy antihistamine used to relieve symptoms associated with allergies such as insect bites, pet allergies, hives and hay fever. It may also be effective at relieving the itch associated with dry skin conditions such as eczema. There are also anti-itch creams available which can be used alongside a tablet, such as Eurax cream, Balneum Plus Cream, Dermol Cream or E45 Itch relief cream. It works by blocking the action of histamine, which is released by the body during an allergic reaction. Telfast tablets are available in 120mg strength and are designed for adults and children over the age of 12.

Summary
Telfast 120mg tablets are used for the relief of symptoms associated with hay fever and other allergies, such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and skin rashes. The recommended dose is one tablet per day, taken with or without food. Telfast tablets should not be taken with fruit juices, as this may affect the absorption of the medication. The duration of treatment may vary depending on the individual's symptoms and response to treatment.
How it Works (The Science)
Fexofenadine hydrochloride is a selective histamine H1-receptor antagonist. Histamine is released by the body during an allergic reaction and causes symptoms such as itching, sneezing, and runny nose. Fexofenadine works by blocking the action of histamine, which reduces the symptoms of allergies.
How to Use
• Take one Telfast 120mg tablet per day, with or without food.
• Do not take Telfast tablets with fruit juices, as this may affect the absorption of the medication.
• Swallow the tablet whole with water, do not crush or chew.
• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose of one tablet per day.
Warnings (Important!)
• Telfast may cause dizziness or drowsiness in some individuals. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery.
• If you have liver or kidney problems, speak to your doctor before taking Telfast tablets.
• If you are taking other medications, speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Telfast, as it may interact with certain medications.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to a pharmacist or doctor before taking Telfast tablets.
Ingredients
Active Ingredients: Fexofenadine hydrochloride 120mg
Other Ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinised starch, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171), colloidal anhydrous silica, macrogol 400.
Shelf Life: 3 years.
Side effects
All medications and products can potentially cause side effects. If you experience any of the following side effects, stop taking Telfast tablets and seek medical attention immediately: allergic reactions such as rash, itching, or hives; swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat; difficulty breathing or swallowing. Other side effects may include headache, dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and dry mouth.
